    The layer model matters for this forum because it gives boards a shared vocabulary. When someone says a problem is in the driver layer rather than the policy layer, that means something specific.

    Measured result

    The middle of the stack is now consolidated in its own digest, which is the better entry point if you are trying to place a specific symptom in the model. Layers 4-7 engineering digest.
