The evidence question

Can signed-driver, present-device, companion-package, and service inventory identify a supported platform-driver or HP OEM change that improves startup or responsiveness on this exact ZBook?

No. Inventory establishes package identity and current device-node health. It does not measure DPC or interrupt duration, device-power transitions, startup readiness, companion-service cost, or relative performance.

Selected platform-driver stack

All 17 selected entries reported a Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher signature. No present device returned a non-OK status or nonzero Device Manager problem code during collection.

Signed status and clean Device Manager metadata do not show whether a package is current, efficient, or the source of latency. Driver dates are not a safe ordering rule.

OEM companion and service surfaces

The current user had companion packages for HP System Information, Intel Graphics/Arc Software, Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management, HP Audio Control, and a Synaptics commercial pointing device.

Running automatic service surfaces included Intel Dynamic Tuning; HP Hotkey, support capability, Insights Analytics, and LAN/WLAN switching components; Intel graphics, management, and storage components; Realtek audio; and Thunderbolt peer-to-peer support.

Those are observed current states, not documented defaults or stop candidates. A name and an automatic start mode do not establish boot criticality, duration, dependencies, trigger behavior, or safe delayed start.

Supported update and rollback boundary

HP Image Assistant is the supported HP comparison surface for target and reference images. HP lists HPIA 5.3.6, dated June 9, 2026, for Windows 10 and 11. HPIA was not detected, no tool was installed, and no exact reference-image match was verified for SKU 4P803UT#ABA on Windows build 26200.

HP's model page requires an operating system and version before presenting downloads. Intel separately warns that a generic graphics driver can remove OEM customizations and can cause instability or lost functionality. A generic package is not a neutral baseline.

A future driver experiment must capture exact HP and OS applicability, hardware IDs, package files and signature, dependency and service bindings, driver-store export or vendor recovery media, installation result, workflow verification, and post-reboot rollback proof.

No proprietary source code, redistribution right, build instructions, signing authority, hardware validation matrix, or recovery proof was found. Rebuilding these drivers is outside the support boundary.

  • Windows exposes signed-driver provider, version, INF, and signer metadata.
  • PnP problem codes report device-node failures, not latency.
  • HPIA compares an HP target image with a reference image.
  • WPR/WPA can attribute DPC/ISR duration by module and function.

Lab measurements

One read-only inventory was captured on AC power with Balanced active. No startup run, workflow, DPC/ISR trace, device-power trace, repeated run, control run, or instrumentation-overhead test was performed.

Hypotheses

A platform driver may contribute DPC/ISR or device-readiness delay, and a companion service may do work near sign-in. Neither is verified.

Unresolved questions

  • Does HPIA have an exact reference image for this build?
  • Which HP SoftPaq and dependency graph maps to each INF?
  • Which modules contribute DPC/ISR duration in defined workflows?
  • Which OEM services perform measurable work before usable state?
